Job Summary:

The Caregiver Supervisor is a front line and supervisory position acting as a representative for PJS Care Services LLC and directing the caregiving services offered by the company. The Caregiving Supervisor promotes the daily functioning and health of the client by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the client caregiving area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with multidisciplinary professional staff in order to achieve the best Client outcomes.

 

Requirements:

• Current RN license in State of Illinois with 2 years health care experience

• Experience in the field of caregiving

• Able to supervise (instruct, assign work, etc.) Caregivers'  

• Current certificate in standard first aid and CPR  

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation  

• Excellent communication and listening skills. 

• Skill in reviewing clinical work of others for compliance with professional standards and practice guidelines. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

The following list is a guideline of possible responsibilities and duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties by the Caregiver Supervisor but is not limited to only those listed below:

• Accomplish caregiver human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, communicating job expectations, recommending compensation provisions, and ensuring adherence to HR policies and procedures. 

• Frequently provides on-site supervision of Caregivers to ensure the implementation of the Agency's Policies and Procedures and effective Client care. 

• Frequently receive feedback from Client and Caregiving staff to assess relationships between parties and work as needed to remedy problem areas  

• Ensure the Client's Plan of Care is being implemented appropriately and effectively 

• Assure quality of care by developing and implementing standards of care, enforcing adherence to Illinois Department on Aging Requirements, The Adult Protective Services Act, Illinois Department of Public Health and other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments to maintain compliance. 

• Provide information to Clients and Caregiving team by answering questions and fulfilling requests. 

• Educate employees, Clients and Client's family members about health care issues 

• Function as a resource person and mentor to all Caregivers to maintain high professional standards and be available to answer staff questions 

• Scheduling hours and assigning Caregivers to particular Clients. 

• Receive employee call-offs, make record of specifics and update schedule
  as appropriate 

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing policies and procedures, rules, and regulations to this effect. 

• Provide input to the governing body for the development and improvement of policies and procedures to support Client safety and quality of care. 

• Maintain documentation of Client Care services and  

• Audit Client records

General Notes: The Caregiving Supervisor is a position of great responsibility that requires strong critical thinking and excellent people skills. There may be emergency situations where the Caregiving Supervisor will have to react quickly with sound judgement and deal with complex problems regarding a variety of issues. Place of Employment:

PJS Care Services LLC's Corporate Office, Client Homes, work sites
outside of the Client's Home as needed.

 

Works in Consultation with:
PJS Care Services LLC's agency manager.

 

Work Hours:
This is may be a full-time position that requires a variety of shifts and hours.
